Meet Our Instructors and Support Staff

John is the founder of Red Line Safety. He has been a certified instructor for over 14 years. John is certified to teach basic First Aid/CPR, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, and First Aid/CPR Instructor Training.  Over the years he has taught classes for hundreds of companies and organizations throughout the Midwest. 

In 2021, John started Red Line Safety with the goal of providing high-quality training and exceptional customer service to individuals and businesses in Indiana. He also wanted to create an instructor-centric training company. John takes great pride in having policies and practices that ensure our instructors are supported and rewarded for providing the high-quality training that our customers expect. Over the past 5 years, Red Line Safety has grown into a reputable provider of training for not only Indiana but the surrounding states as well.

As the administrative backbone and "voice of Red Line Safety," Anne ensures our operations run seamlessly and our clients receive exceptional support at every turn. In addition to guiding daily communications and administrative logistics, Anne is a certified instructor who is passionate about building safer communities. She deeply values the sense of confidence and empowerment that comes with mastering life-saving skills, and she works tirelessly to make CPR, first aid, and safety training accessible, engaging, and impactful for every participant.

Abby has been teaching since July 2025.  She is on a volunteer fire department as an EMT and grew up around the department. Abby teaches to help others understand the importance of quick interventions and lifesaving measures that anyone can do. Outside of teaching, Abby is working on earning her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy.

Chris was an EMT from 2009-17, an AEMT from 2017-2018, and has been a Paramedic since the end of 2018. Chris has worked as a military combat medic, on the healthcare staff in corrections facilities, as a firefighter, in hospitals as an ED Tech, has been an adjunct and lead EMT instructor, and worked for both private and hospital based EMS.

Chris has an Associate Degree in Health Science and another in Emergency Medical Services. He is a Paramedic for Jeffersontown Fire and EMS Department in Jeffersontown, KY. When not working Chris like to spend time hunting, fishing, camping, or building model airplanes.

Danny been with the Indianapolis fire department for ten years. Prior to that he lived in Saline, Michigan where he grew up. Danny was married in 2023, and welcomed a daughter in 2024. In his free time he spends time with his dogs and coaches lacrosse for the Cathedral Irish.

Jennifer has been an instructor with Red Line Safety since July 2024. She has been certified by the American Red Cross to teach basic First Aid/CPR/AED, and since January 2025, Basic Life Support for Healthcare. Jennifer has been a full-time safety manager for the last eight years and thoroughly enjoys teaching. In her spare time, you will find Jennifer spending time with her husband and two boys.

Joe works as a Firefighter/ EMT in Madison County and joined RLS to help his community to be confident and equipped to step in to help in emergency situations, as well as to keep up and master important skills in his line of work. They say you don’t really know something until you can teach it! In his free time, Joe enjoys staying active, lifting weights, reading, and spending time with his fiancée and church community.

Joe is an American Red Cross Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor. He has been teaching classes since October 2023. Joe has been a Firefighter/EMT for 6 years with certifications in Hazardous Materials, Confined Space Rescue, Driver/Operator, and Arson Investigations.

Karen has been an instructor with Red Line Safety since 2025.  She began teaching because she believes everyone should know how to give CPR.  It is an important skill that can save a life and is most often used with your own family and friends.  Karen enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Katelyn has been teaching Red Cross courses with Red Line Safety since April of 2023. She is a former public school educator and a current registered nurse working at Riley Hospital for Children.

Kelly is a First Aid/CPR/AED instructor because she loves to empower every day individuals to save lives during emergencies like cardiac arrest or choking by keeping oxygen flowing until medical help arrives. Kelly's full time job is as an Indianapolis regional school nurse, which she has done for over 20 years. She loves making a real impact on her students' health and well being, watching them grow into wonderful young men and young women.

Liz Harper has always been teaching and learning how to help people. She joined Red Line Safety at the end of 2024 and really enjoys being an instructor. Outside of teaching she works full time at Purdue University.  In her personal time she prioritizes spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Malia became an instructor because she believes that the skills we teach can help save a life and loves being a part of that! When she is not teaching classes, Malia works as a First Responder full-time with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department. Outside of work, Malia enjoys spending time at home with her two Huskies, Luna and Kaiser. They all love being outside and going on hikes. Malia also enjoys gardening, homesteading, spending time with friends and family, and shopping.

Renee joined Red Line Safety because she genuinely enjoys helping people develop practical, real-world skills that can make a difference when it matters most. 

She first began teaching American Red Cross courses through the YMCA, where I instructed for about three years before stepping away to focus on raising and homeschooling her children. After that season of life, she felt drawn back to teaching and have been instructing again for the past year. She loves creating a relaxed, hands-on environment where people feel comfortable asking questions, practicing skills, and building the confidence to respond in an emergency. 

Outside the classroom, she has a strong interest in emergency preparedness and community resilience, and is actively involved with her local CERT, where I continue building practical emergency-response skills and serving her community. 

She also enjoys gardening, preserving food, homesteading, and spending time outdoors. She's a lifelong learner by nature, so there’s usually another class, skill, or area of preparedness she's working to learn more about.

For Renee, teaching first aid and CPR is really an extension of something she values deeply: helping ordinary people feel better prepared to care for themselves, their families, and the people around them.

After raising her children as a stay-at-home mother, Susan set out to find a path where she could help others. Now, she is grateful to have the time to teach CPR classes and support her community. 

In her free time, Susan enjoys gardening, traveling, hiking, walking, and visiting her grandchildren.
